Title: Save a Drum, Bang a Drummer
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: OhYass, MaruBaru, RyoUchi
Notes: Something something. I love Glenn. He is my pet boyband. There is no relevance here.

Subaru and Shota didn’t linger long at breakfast the next day. Ryuhei had told Subaru that he had stuff to sort out (accompanied by a very pointed glance towards the drummer), and Subaru had told Shota that he’d promised to go shopping. Whether Subaru had actually planned a shopping trip and made Shota promise was another matter, but the blonde’s memory was so notoriously poor that he accepted the charge, made his apologies, and left with his best friend.

“Okay, Ohkura, spill.” Maru demanded as soon as the pair were out of earshot. Coincidentally, it was just as Ryo and Hiroki walked into earshot.

“Yeah, Tacchon, this I want to hear.” Ryo enthused, grabbing a cup of coffee despite Hiroki’s protests that it wasn’t a proper breakfast, and seating himself.

“What is there to hear?” Ohkura answered slowly, keeping his emotions out of his voice. “He’s cute, good in the sack, and I have enjoyed the two nights we have spent together.”

“If I remember correctly, you were booked with a guy not too bad looking, and reasonable in bed for two consecutive nights last week.” (There was a reason Uchi had ended up working on the door rather than his back) “Did you feel the same way about him?”

Ohkura’s blank look was quite possibly more incriminating than the word ‘no’ which had almost escaped him.

“You like him, don’t you?” Maru asked softly.

“I do like him. He is a nice boy. I would like to be friends with him.” Ohkura had an inkling that there was no way he was going to win this argument. “But I am aware of what I am, and I am not going to give that up in a heartbeat to be with him.”

“That’s good.” Maru nodded. “I made sure I had another job secured before I gave up the trade. I want you to do the same.”

“I’m not going to give this up!”

“Promise that if you do, you won’t do it without planning it all out properly.”

“What?”

“Promise.”

“Why should I?” Ohkura could hear the emotion creeping into his voice.

“Tada-kun.” The use of his old nickname made Ohkura look up. Uchi continued. “I know you don’t think it’s going to happen. But it has happened before and Maru’s is certainly not a unique case. He’s worried about you because you’re denying it.”

“What if I’m denying it because there is honestly nothing there?”

“Then you probably wouldn’t have chosen to sleep with him twice.”

“He was fun. Why shouldn’t I have picked him again?”

“Because, Ohkura,” Ryuhei sounded tired “Generally you try to convince your choice of person to come back another day and pay for you. You told Shota not to, because he could get you for nothing on Friday nights. I am not saying that it is absolutely certain that you will end up with him, just that you seem to like him a bit more than would be considered a normal client relationship. Furthermore,” Maru’s tone softened a little “He genuinely likes you, and it would be a shame to see that go unreciprocated.”

“So now you’re guilt-tripping me?” Ohkura knew that wasn’t the case but had to argue it anyway.

“No, Tacchon, we are trying to help you express yourself. Because you’re not very good at expressing your emotions yourself.”

Ohkura harrumphed and stabbed his last piece of bacon.

“And I shouldn’t need to tell you that you can talk to me about anything.” Maru concluded, collecting his dishes and clearing them away.

Ryo looked at his best friend and shrugged.

“Monogamy is awesome.” He offered. “You don’t have to wear a condom.”

Despite himself, Ohkura smiled. Ryo grinned.

“Thanks, Ryo.”

“That’s okay. But when you fall for him, just know I’m going to be the first there to tell you I told you so.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

“Anyway, Hiro and I haven’t seen each other in like, a fortnight, so we’re going to go compensate for the next few hours, at least.”

“Charming, Ryo.”

“Says the prostitute.”

“Says the guy banging an ex-prostitute.”

“Says the guy who wants to be an ex-prostitute.”

“Says you, stupid.”

“That was uncalled for.”

“Go screw with Uchi.”

“I’m right here.”

“Don’t worry; we’ll be not here soon.”

“Why do I like you, Ryo?”

“I don’t know, but I do know that I am going to go screw you. Ohkura, it’s been fun. Go eat or mope or jack off or do whatever it is you single people do.”

“...”

With a giggle, Ryo and Uchi left the room. Ohkura sighed loudly and went in search of more bacon.

“So what did you need to buy?” Shota asked as he and Subaru rode the train into the city centre.

“Clothes.” Subaru answered. It was the easiest answer to give considering he’d just invented the whole shopping trip to make Shota happy and willing to talk.

“Don’t you have enough of those already?”

“You have more than me!”

“Okay, so maybe that’s true.” Shota admitted. “But anything in particular?”

“I don’t know. I just feel like shopping.”

Yasuda couldn’t spot an ulterior motive, no matter how hard he tried, so he accepted the explanation without question and happily spent two hours wandering around shops looking at brightly coloured T-shirts and pants and the odd man-skirt. Finally Subaru claimed that his old man legs were tired, and they found a café to rest in.

Subaru was quiet as they were furnished with menus, but Shota just attributed this to Subaru’s shyness around waiters and shop assistants. When the waiter returned, he ordered a pot of jasmine tea for Subaru and a strawberry frappe for himself. It was only once they’d been served and the waiter had disappeared again that Subaru spoke.

“Shota, tell me about Tadayoshi.”

The question took Shota – who had been trying to fish a strawberry out of the cream of his frappe – entirely by surprise.

“What do you mean?”

“Do you like him?” Subaru’s tone took a slightly teasing note to keep it light-hearted.

“I do.”

“Even though people pay to have sex with him?”

Shota licked the cream of his fingers with a contemplative look on his face.

“Subaru, I have seen him twice. He’s not my boyfriend.”

“Would you like him to be?”

“If I got sex that good every day, then yes.”

“Do you like him as a person?”

“I think so. I don’t know. We don’t really talk much. Why are you asking these questions?”

“I just want to make sure that you don’t become too emotionally attached to someone you can’t have.”

“But I can have him virtually any time I want, if I wanted.”

“So could anyone else.”

“What point are you trying to make here?”

“Sho, you’re my best friend, and I want to make sure you don’t get hurt.”

Shota pouted and played with his straw. Subaru sighed, knowing he wasn’t going to get anything further out of the blonde. They parted ways soon after.

Yasuda was kept occupied with his work for the rest of the week. Or maybe that was just his excuse for not talking to Subaru or thinking about Tadayoshi too much. Come the conclusion of the week though, he was keen for a night out. Without much consideration of options, he ended up at the same club he’d been every Friday night for the past three weeks.

He pulled out his wallet to pay the cover charge as he stepped inside, but the pretty young doorman, who felt obliged to tell Shota that his name was Hiroki and he was glad to see Shota back, simply waved him inside.

“Tacchon will be glad to see you.” Hiroki whispered.

“Thanks.” Shota beamed back.

He couldn’t see Subaru when he entered the club, and for a moment, he couldn’t see Ohkura either. However, six feet of pure sex was a lot harder to lose than five (and a bit) feet of (self-confessed) grumpy old man, and Shota soon spotted the lean drummer sitting at the bar with another man. Ohkura must have sensed his gaze, because he turned around, smiled at Shota, and then whispered something to his acquaintance. The acquaintance looked at Shota and smiled.

Shota took this as a good sign, and approached the two. Ohkura dragged another barstool over for him, and slung an arm around his waist as soon as he was seated.

“Kimi, this is Shota.”

The man called Kimi extended a hand. Shota presumed it was to shake hands, but as soon as his hand was in the other’s, Kimi lifted it to his lips and placed a chivalrous kiss upon it. Shota giggled and pulled his hand back. Ohkura rolled his eyes.

“Anyway, I think we’re going upstairs now.” Ohkura told his friend. “Good luck finding someone as nice as this one.”

He squeezed the blonde a little, and Shota giggled some more, missing Ohkura’s whispered addendum of ‘and someone this uke’.

Tadayoshi chose the blue room again, to Shota’s delight. The blonde threw himself face first into the pillows, then rolled over and gave his best seductive look. Ohkura joined him, in a far more sedate fashion.

“Shota, I think we need to have a little talk.”

Yasuda sat up and nodded.

“I think so too.”

“What did you want to say?”

The blonde shrugged.

“Subaru is worried about me. He thinks I’m falling for you, but I can’t really keep you.”

Ohkura snorted.

“That’s rich, coming from him.”

Shota cocked his head to the side in a silent request for clarification.

“Ryuhei used to be the top host. Then he fell in love with Subaru and quit. Well, he still works the bar because he couldn’t bear leaving the place. But yeah, Subaru and Maru did exactly the same thing they’re accusing us of.”

Yasuda paused before asking his next question.

“Do you think it will happen to us?”

Ohkura shrugged.

“Shota, don’t get me wrong. I like you, and I enjoy spending time with you, but I know my job takes priority.” He paused. “Which is why I think you should stop coming on Fridays, and start visiting me other days of the week.”

“Why?”

“If you want me, you’re going to have to start paying for me. I know I can choose whoever I want on Fridays, and if I could I’d probably choose you every week, but that’s not very good for business.”

“I understand.”

“I’m glad you do.”

“How do you choose people on Friday nights, anyway?”

“Mostly appearance. Sometimes it’s because they look like they’d be good in bed. Sometimes because they look easy to...extort.”

Shota quirked an eyebrow. Ohkura sighed and explained.

“There are some people that you know are so lonely, that in their desperation, they’ll be willing to spend lots of money on you. And really, it’s my job to get money out of people.”

“How did you choose me?”

“Subaru told me his friend would be coming, at that I might like him.”

“So Subaru asked you to sleep with me?”

“No! He’d told me about you before and I wanted to meet you. And when I saw the hot little blonde he was talking about sitting by himself and looking like he wasn’t having any fun at all, I knew I had to fix that.”

Ohkura accompanied the words with a hand on Shota’s thigh. Yasu sighed happily at the touch.

“Shota, I am glad I chose you.”

The words could have been reassurance, or they could have been genuine. Shota didn’t particularly care anymore. Ohkura felt a slight pang of...something...as he rolled over on top of the small blonde and began to kiss him with all the emotion he wasn’t supposed to feel. And when his orgasm came, he had no control over it, nor over his mouth as he moaned Shota’s name.

It didn’t escape Shota’s attention. He curled up to the drummer’s long frame and smiled.

“I have a feeling the others might be onto something.”

Ohkura pressed a kiss to the blonde’s forehead with a sigh.

“I know.”
